Spangled Stars
I was living on Fort Bliss, U.S. Army Post in El Paso, TX, and was inspired by the large star that was beautifully lit up at night, on the side of Mt. Franklin.
El Paso, was where I began painting stars. I paint colorful flowers and other designs on metal stars.
The star on Mt Franklin is dedicated to good will and peace and was first lighted Nov. 29, 1940.
